British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
