David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
