Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early names in the frame to succeed Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the squad's 10-match winless start to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic links to the team - are among the names to be considered by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would create a possible obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

Nevertheless the former Luton Town manager - who made more than 100 of games for the club during his playing career - is considered a leading contender for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they begin the search of hiring a fresh manager.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a unexpected contender, even though he would be a shock appointment given he was released by Wolves in December last year.

The former West Ham United midfielder is currently unemployed which means the club would not need to provide any buyout fee.
