Eulogies Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.
Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the duo.
A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to express about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," posted Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started passing more hours together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the production, remarking that he could not remember "a single day without joy".
"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes wrote.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist
In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A court order placed a restriction on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" associated with the active case.
The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a official listing citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
