News has broken that fan-favorite stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
A Major Comeback for the Franchise
The duo are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Industry whispers indicate their cameos will probably be featured in a brief glimpse ahead, as the main film series concluded with their characters living in peace.

The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a recent book by series creator Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.

The film's story are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.

- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a earlier incarnation of the calculating President Snow.
