Orbital Images Show Iranian Naval Forces and Atomic Facilities Damaged by American and Israeli Military Action.

A series of US and Israeli airstrikes has reportedly destroyed or damaged a minimum of 11 Iran's navy ships starting Saturday, freshly analyzed orbital imagery demonstrate, with rocket sites and enrichment plants also sustaining hits.

Photographs of the southerly Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas port facility, which overlooks the strategic Hormuz Strait and is home to the main command of the Iranian navy, depict smoke billowing from multiple vessels on recent days.

Maritime Assets Sustained Significant Damage

Among the targets eliminated was the IRINS Makran, the country's largest naval vessel which had functioned as a drone carrier. Satellite images displayed dark plumes rising from the vessel which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence assessments suggest that no fewer than five ships at Bandar Abbas were "damaged or eliminated". Pictures of the southern end of the harbor reveal smoke emanating from the IRINS Makran, while another pair of vessels seem to be damaged, with a single one seen burning.

At Konarak, photos display multiple damaged vessels, with expert review identifying impacts on six ships. Photos taken on the start of the week also show that a number of buildings at the installation have been leveled.

"For many years the Iran's leadership has harassed international shipping," an American commander declared. "Now, there is no vessel from Iran operational in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Gulf of Oman, and we will not stop."

A number of vessels reportedly sunk may have been hidden in satellite images by haze or plumes, or hit in open waters, and have yet to be fully confirmed. Separate reports stated that a ship from Iran was sinking near Sri Lankan territorial waters, resulting in a rescue operation.

Rocket Bases and Nuclear Facilities Targeted

Eliminating Tehran's launch facilities and the hindering of nuclear weapons development were stated as further goals of the military strikes. Aerial imagery also depicted impacts against the southerly Khorgu and northwestern Tabriz missile missile bases, and at the Konarak base, where weapons bunkers and bunkers were hit.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e UAV facility to the west of the city of Kermanshah, widespread damage was identified to warehouses, underground facilities and unmanned aircraft systems.

Damage was also seen at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase airbase in eastern Iran, near the border with neighboring nations.

Significantly, the most recent series of attacks have apparently focused on installations at Natanz – widely believed to be at the core of Iran's enrichment efforts. An international watchdog said that the damaged buildings were used for entry to the site's underground enrichment facility and that "no radiological consequence" was likely.

Wider Consequences and Assessment

Military analysts indicated that the strikes appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iran's naval capacity to sustain traditional warfare using its most significant warships. However, it was emphasised that Iran still has the capacity to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of drones, small submarines and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The total scope of the damage caused to Iranian military facilities remains unclear, with hostilities reportedly continuing. Imagery also shows considerable damage to the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran.

A large number of non-military structures also seem to have been hit in the capital and throughout the country since the hostilities escalated. Toll estimates from local officials indicate that hundreds of civilians may have been fatally injured in the attacks.

As the situation develops, analysis of aerial photographs will carry on to assess the evolving battlefield picture.
