Palestinian-American Adolescent Liberated After Nine Months in Israel's Custody

A Palestinian-American adolescent after completing 270 days in Israel's custody without charge has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities said it welcomed the teenager's freedom.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle expressed the family's "tremendous relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, our priority is getting Mohammed urgent medical care he requires following exposure to Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."

US officials announced ongoing to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety and security of American nationals"," officials stated.

A group of American legislators had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, with four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed without charge at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.

The facility also contains adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities including killings.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, document cases involving physical abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
