The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
A pair of titles currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — which makes them ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
